The 3one6 is definitely more aggressive than the Edwin Jagger DE 89. I own both. However,I have never owned an AS-D2 but have heard it is milder than the DE89 I do own so without a doubt I could not make a case of the 3one6 vs the AS-D2, but if you want mild go AS-D2 otherwise go 3one6.

The razor finds it own angle. This is the second Edwin Jagger I own, I also have a DE86. The 3one6 is a lighter but slightly more aggressive than the DE86. I used it with a Feather blade and Tabac shave soap. It shaved very close with a 3 pass shave. I did have a couple of weepers but nothing serious.

For years, EJ used the Mulhe R89 head for their DE89 razors, using their own handles. The DE89 was considerably cheaper than its Muhle counterpart. Muhle has its Rocca out now, their SS entry, for under $100 (a terrific razor, BTW), so maybe the 3One6 will be similarly priced? It's a beautiful razor, though.
